CPS Color supports sale of colour visualization software

Decoration planning tool helps customers choose the right colour

Jyväskylä, Finland / Nuremberg, Germany, May 8, 2007 – CPS Color, leading supplier of advanced tinting systems, has partnered with software vendor Upload Image Processing to distribute its ”Color Planner”. With Color Planner, customers can upload photos of their houses, rooms, and other objects to visualize what they would like if painted in a certain colour. CPS Color will offer this tool to paint manufacturers to enable them to promote colours and their paint brands more impressively.

Choosing the right colour is one of the hardest decisions when decorating a house. The visualization software Color Planner answers, in advance, the awkward question ”what will our room look like if we paint it with this colour”: With a simple click consumers can choose from a given range of coloured paints and discuss the results. Moreover, Color Planner recognizes what kind of surface (e.g. wall, door, or roof) in which part of the photo is depicted. This way the software makes sure only paints suitable for the surface are offered to the user. Finally, Color Planner provides customers with a complete list of colours they need to purchase for their ends.

To meet the needs of consumers and manufacturers alike, paint manufacturers will receive a tailor-made, customized software version including their colour cards and paint products. ”With this software, consumers can play with colours and print a colour list before going to a paint shop. Manufacturers can use this service as a support tool in their branding activities,” explained Timo Holopainen, Technology Director at CPS Color.
